Audlem Baptist Church - Latest News May 28, 2011
This holiday weekend is a busy one in Audlem. The music festival has become a tradition over recent years. This year there is an added attraction. The village churches
have combined to put on an exhibition titled 'Equilibrium' that examines the 'how', 'what' and 'when' of the issues that we all face arising from carbon emissions and
from the depletion of the world's resources. As Christians we should also be concerned about Creation Care, morality and justice in contrast to exploitation and greed.
The exhibition is open all weekend and through until Friday. As part of the weekend there is a joint village service in the Parish Church. The address will be given by Dr John Biggs, who was on an international climate change committee several years ago and was a member of the Baptist Council in Great Britain. The service starts at 11am. There will be more reports about these events next week. March 7, 2011
We are approaching Lent which is traditionally an important time of year for us not only as individuals as we consider again all that Jesus achieved
on the Cross and through His resurrection but also as a fellowship of Churches in Audlem where we share together in the Lent Course and in the Lent
Lunches. Please see the calendar page for more information about these activities.

We had a fire practice after Church last week. Our insurer requested that we do this. It seems likely that this is the first
fire practice that the Church has ever had in its 199 year history!

Sundays in a cold Church building should be a thing of the past now that we have replaced the faulty timer that is supposed to
automatically turn on the heating. Thank you for your patience while we have been having these problems!
